About Me
We live in Fredericksburg, Virginia where American history and the natural world sit side by side every single day. This historic city was built just below the fall line on the banks of the Rappahannock River, and the surrounding battlefields, forests, and waterways have shaped both my life and my photography.
Because of that daily contact, my work has grown into a clear focus on historic landscapes —places that still hold the quiet power of the past, including our sacred battlefields and the timeless wildlife along the ancient Rappahannock river.
Over the years I’ve had the great fortune and honor of seeing a number of my Civil War battlefield photographs published nationally and locally in support of battlefield preservation and regional tourism in Virginia.
Standing on those hallowed battlefields never gets old for me. The history is still alive there. My goal with every photo I take is to share that feeling and, through every purchase, continue supporting the organizations that protect these irreplaceable places
A portion of all purchases from Chris Landon Photography will be donated to 501(c)(3) non-profit Battlefield Preservation organizations.
Over the years I have had the great honor to have a number of my photos published nationally and regionally. All in support of battlefield preservation, education and tourism. My photos have also appeared in a historic Civil War documentary and more recently a major book publication. They have also been shared nationally innumerable times on social media.
