Welcome to Chris Landon Photography!!

About Me
I live in the Fredericksburg, Virginia region, where American history and the natural world sit side by side every single day. This historic city was built just below the fall line on the banks of the Rappahannock River, and the surrounding battlefields, forests, and waterways have shaped both my life and my photography.
Because of that daily contact, my work has grown into a clear focus on historic landscapes—places that still hold the quiet power of the past.
Over the years I’ve had the great fortune and honor of seeing a number of my Civil War battlefield photographs published nationally and locally in support of battlefield and historic preservation and regional tourism here in Virginia.
Standing on those hallowed battlefields—sometimes in the freezing morning light, as in the photo of me on the Jackson Flank Attack trail at Chancellorsville in 2022—never gets old. The history is still alive there. My goal with every image is to share that feeling and, through every purchase, continue supporting the organizations that protect these irreplaceable places.
(Photo of me above was taken on a freezing morning on the Jackson Flank Attack portion of the Chancellorsville Battlefield in 2022)
